Plugin Updates for Twitter, Forum and Newsfeed
We are happy to announce the release of a couple of new updates for our plugins, including our Twitter Plugin, Forum Plugin (+ Group-Integration Extension) and our Newsfeed Advanced Plugin.We have re-written over 80% of the twitter plugin, which is now available in version 3.5. Our Twitter Plugin now relies on a Javascript API to greatly reduce your server load and to speed up page loadings. Because of the switch to this new API some old features are missing in this new release. We tried to compensate this with new features like: Bit.ly (URL Shortener) support, Retweet support or the import/ synchronization of tweets from twitter to your site. SocialEngine 4 and SEplugins
Due to a lot of emails concerning SE 4 upgrades, please note that all of our plugins work with SocialEngine 3.x. As soon as there is a downloadable SocialEngine 4 Beta version, we are able to tell which plugins are upgraded to SocialEngine 4. Since SE4 is a complete new environment (not comparable to SE3), the upgrading process will take some time.on 14/12/09

Twitter Update 3.12
There is still a problem with the Twitter.com API. Good news though, the change will be rolled backed: "We will roll back the current restriction of 15 calls per user per hour to account/verify_credentials" Doug Williams, Twitter API Developer Support.In the meanwhile we improved the calls to this method. All calls to account/verify_credentials are cached now, too. After updating your plugin, wait at least one hour to see some effects. We are sorry for all the inconveniences and hope that this issue is going to be fixed as soon as possible.

Twitter API and Lost Connections
The Twitter API was updated. Twitter surprisingly introduced a new rate limit for the account/verify_credentials method. Since other developers are complaining about this new rate limit, too, Twitter is going to change this behavior soon. At this moment, we can only wait for the final version of the Twitter API to adapt our Twitter plugin. Group-Integration Extension Released
We are happy to announce the release of our latest plugin. It is actually more like an extension, a group-integration extension. It integrates our forum plugin and/ or our twitter plugin into every group. This extension requires the official group plugin from SocialEngine. Forum Plugin 3.10
Last update for this week. Our forum plugin is now available in version 3.10, too. The update comes with a complete re-design of all pages and stylesheets, so please make sure to clear your browser cache when visiting our demo or product site.
